Read MoreWelcome to the Afterschool Programs of Lancaster! My name is Michele Ritchlin and I am the Executive Director of the Afterschool Programs right here in Lancaster, Ohio. For over 20 years we have provided thousands of children from our community with homework help, math and reading tutoring, adult mentoring, and meals. We serve students and families in all five of our district elementary schools with the goal to provide the supportive structure these students need to thrive and become contributing members of our community.
As a non-profit organization, our program is funded through grants and donations; in fact, the Afterschool Programs of Lancaster has been awarded a total of 10 Federal 21st Century Grants totaling $8 million in awards since 2004. Combined with the donations we receive from our Homework Fund, grants and donations from the Fairfield County Foundation, and the community, these funds directly serve and benefit the students and families in the Lancaster City Schools district.
It is our mission to provide programs and services that enrich the educational, social and cultural opportunities for students to further their academic development outside of the normal school day. With the help of our passionate volunteers, administrative staff, and board members, and 68 community partners, we are devoted to making a difference in the academic achievement and quality of life for these young children. Thank you for being a part of the Afterschool Programs of Lancaster.
